Another San Francisco wedding

The ceremony was held at the City Hall before we moved on to the ever popular and never disappointing Palace of Fine Arts to complete the photo session for their wedding.

The weather was beautiful so we had great light inside the City Hall too. Actually, there always seems to be great light in that building. If you've never been inside - you should. It's one of San Francisco's gems.

I really liked their colour theme too.

It was a small intimate wedding which is the type I love shooting because they tend to be more of a extended photo session for me with the ceremony being close to a scripted shoot followed by a more candid approach to wrap things up.

It's nice to shoot from a distance at times so that the couple get the chance to be "together" on their big day and not having a lens thrust into their space. The other benefit of this is it makes capturing real candid moments so much easier and serves to give a truer record of the day.

Most of this selection of examples show posed shots. In the case of this couple, we all got so relaxed we decided to have fun and play with some ideas. This is another reason why I really like smaller wedding shoots.

Once everyone is relaxed, it's like being out with friends and grabbing some fun shots while everyone is dressed up and living through all the emotions of the moment.

How do you find La Dolce Vita? —

Italianissimo are a San Francisco based company that can help you to experience all things Italian. And you don't have to go to Italy for an Italian experience as you can see from this photoshoot I did for the owners.

We chose locations in and around the North Beach area to create images that will be used for promos, advertising, marketing, online and in social media. These are a small selection.

It was a brilliantly sunny day so there was lots of harsh light around in the early afternoon. The good news was that this also allowed us to make use of reflections from light coloured walls and even the sidewalk at times acting as large diffused light boxes.

I also used a speed light for addition fill and to keep catchlights in the eyes if we found ourselves in lots of shade. Special thanks to the restaurant owners in North beach who supplied us with free aperitifs and great spaces to work with.

And just to finish off, here are my unique stock image sales for  April with the image circled in red being the most popular seller of the month.

Shirt Shooting in San Francisco

I've been busy with quite a few shoots that hadn't yet been published. Now that these campaigns are going live I'm highlighting the recent work I've done for some of my clients.

I shot a selection of images for a refresh for https://www.originalstitch.com

They are currently being used on their site along with some previous photography I completed for them.
