Another San Francisco wedding

The ceremony was held at the City Hall before we moved on to the ever popular and never disappointing Palace of Fine Arts to complete the photo session for their wedding.

The weather was beautiful so we had great light inside the City Hall too. Actually, there always seems to be great light in that building. If you've never been inside - you should. It's one of San Francisco's gems.

I really liked their colour theme too.

It was a small intimate wedding which is the type I love shooting because they tend to be more of a extended photo session for me with the ceremony being close to a scripted shoot followed by a more candid approach to wrap things up.

It's nice to shoot from a distance at times so that the couple get the chance to be "together" on their big day and not having a lens thrust into their space. The other benefit of this is it makes capturing real candid moments so much easier and serves to give a truer record of the day.

Most of this selection of examples show posed shots. In the case of this couple, we all got so relaxed we decided to have fun and play with some ideas. This is another reason why I really like smaller wedding shoots.

Once everyone is relaxed, it's like being out with friends and grabbing some fun shots while everyone is dressed up and living through all the emotions of the moment.
