Winter in June

Yes you've got it. The model's name is Winter and the photoshoot took place in June. It was a studio shoot with various lighting set-ups.

Winter was great to work with and we were able to chit chat while we worked together.

She's still young in the business and is a superbly smart lady. We talked a little about some of the plans she has for her life, and if I had such clear direction as she has when I was her age, I'd probably be... well, who knows.

Anyway, I get the sense that Winter is going to quickly become a rising star in any one of the directions she given herself the flexibility to take!

Who can say, maybe I'll get to work with Winter again in the autumn, or in the winter even...

A few more frames

It's always great when making photos of people with lively, fun personalities. Mom had come along with her daughter to get some new portraits done and it turned out to be one of my favorite sessions that I've shot. The little girl had so much energy and was really fascinated with all the different props I had about the place.
She was very cute in her different outfits and at first mom tried to stop her running around the place and picking things up trying to work out what they were for. I told her mom to let her just have fun  and she soon felt really at home and comfortable - which made her a great subject!

Maybe it was the size, but she was really fascinated with one of my gilt frames. So as she pretended to be a picture, I of course, took her picture.

My props came in handy again as toys for the little girl so that her mom was able to get her shots too. Lighting was a three light set up with studio lights. Hair, background, and key. Lens is a Nikkor 50mm.

June was so full, and so much...

I got back from Belize in June with 3 corporate shoots waiting for me the very first few days I was back in the city. The assignments kept on coming and it turned out to be another really busy month. I really love working with my clients, so more work usually also means more fun!

I've shot some of the sweetest children ever this month and really enjoyed how each time they turned into impromptu playdates. One mother of a little girl I did a photo set for, tells me her daughter keeps asking her,
"When are we going to visit Roi again?"

Along with my corporate assignments I did my usual round of headshots for all types of people, a model shoot assignment, product, family sessions, and a couple of engagements. I've still got a load of stock photos to upload too, but after attending the San Francisco Pride Parade, I have even more. I've already managed to sell one my pride photos to a news agency and had another bunch of my Pride shots accepted to an image stock library for future sales.

Talking of stock images, sales are still moving in the right direction and my first and last image sales of June are these.

Back to my editing and processing now, there's enough of it to keep me out of trouble — except when I'm riding MUNI :)
