Shoots for Skype in Los Angeles and Atlanta

I was briefed to capture images of families interacting with each other but as if they were skypeing with relatives or friends using computers, TV screens, or mobile devices.
I needed to capture people with myself taking the place of the 'device' they were supposedly using and get natural looking shots. In addition, I was working with real people and not models in and around their own homes.
I really love people so it was fun for me getting them to relax and not be self conscious as I was literally poking a lens into their faces. I must say it was a lot of trust on their part too but I'm pleased with what I managed to get.
Also to get the angles I wanted, I got to put some of my contortion skills to the test while covering these two shoots :)

Size Matters

Viewing prints digitally on a screen can be enjoyable but viewing a physical print adds to the experience. And when that's the case, sometimes bigger is better. I have a whole range of prints that I currently print onto canvas and have them available for sale. I’ve also been receiving order for larger format prints. My largest so far included 2 prints that are 9 feet by 3.5 feet each in size. These larger canvases were for 2 bedrooms in a resort.  The majority of my work is currently Belize based. The canvas prints are printed for me in Belize City and the wooden frames are made to custom sizes by  Kelvin  Baizar   in Belmopan. (Kelvin is also an accomplished artist so check out his work). There must be a way out of all of this

2020 just keeps on doling out more twists to each story. A lot of people now wonder if there is anyway out of the wormhole we all seem to be existing in. This is a straight forward shot of the vehicle on one of the local dirt roads with marshland on the right side of the scene. I stood on a ladder and took a selfie using the self timer function and cut out the image. Next I illustrated the ladder digitally and placed it into the main image. Once I was happy with the ladder position, I positioned the selfie cut-out onto the ladder and sized it down to a scale that I felt worked for the composition. Once I was happy, I also added shadows and highlights to the ladder to help with the illusion. I did further work blending the ladder where it appears to enter the clouds. With all of this in place, I went ahead and digitally created the 'This Way Out' sign and blended it into the composition. Finally I did some overall toning to the image. Main Image Location: Sit

Everything has consequences

Individual ideas, theories, advice, solutions, and more are all heavily amplified with easy access to social media. Whether it's the perceived anonymity, or the buffer of non face-to-face confrontation, many people are able to speak as experts dismissing any arguments that counter their own viewpoints. So who's wrong? Who's right? Who knows. But whatever the approach or proffered solution, there will be consequences. The main image here is a self portrait as I balance on a stool. I added some ants taken from an older photo and then drew the strings that would suspend me once the stool had been taken out of the picture. After finding someone to model for me, I took a quick shot of a hand holding a pair of scissors. The hand and scissors are cut out and the retouched into the main image.
